My fiance Mike and I went snowshoeing this weekend (with our dog Albi, of course). My parents got us LL Bean snowshoes for Christmas, which we hadn't had a chance to use yet. The January thaw we had did not create ideal conditions. We had never been to this spot in New Gloucester, Maine called Pisgah Hill Preserve. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We aren't really into places that a lot of people go to and there's a lot of "traffic", so this place was perfect. We only passed one other group of people/dogs.
We did a loop up and back down the "hill" I guess, which took us around 45 minutes and then we took a trail to a "campfire", which was just a fire pit with benches around it, which I guess would be really cool during the summer.
Before we went, we were planning on going to the gym for a workout after, but it was tiring! I was sweating pretty profusely. You know that feeling when the air is cold, but you're all bundled up, and you start sweating, then when you stop youre cold and wet? Yeah, not my favorite. Anyway, we both had our FitBits on, (we both have the FitBit One and love it) and it said that we had gone up 39 flights of stairs by hiking the hill. I think we walked about a mile and a quarter total.
Albi is so funny in the snow, because he jumps around and burroughs his head in it. You can tell how much he loves it. At one point, he just laid down in the middle of the trail and started eating some snow.
Here are some more photos from the day...some of them are a lot darker than I'd like, because of the tree cover.
Well, I am going to try on a wedding dress soon with my aunt, so that's all from me! Thanks for reading.
