Hey!
So I posted a video on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL (so exciting!!) talking about some cool stuff that I got from the drugstore. Take a look!
The first things I got were these new Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links. They are individual eye shadows that slide together to form a palette. I think that this is an awesome idea, but the quality of the shadows is pretty dreadful. The lighter colors barely showed up when I swatched them, and the darker colors were chalky and looked streaky on my skin.
Also from Revlon, I got 2 balms, one lacquer balm and one matte balm. These are from Revlon's Colorburst collection and I'm kind of loving them! They have a minty scent, which I'm usually not a fan of, but it really didn't bother me. You can smell it the first couple seconds that you apply the balm, and then it goes away. The formula is really smooth and moisturizing, even in the matte balm. The color has alright staying power...it doesn't stain your lips like the balm stain (also in a stick) from Revlon does, but that can be a good thing if you aren't into the stain-age. The colors that I got are really pretty and look great on the lips (at least I think so!).
I know, I know...I got very similar colors as my last 2 products. These are the Loreal Extraordinaire Color Riche Lip Glosses. I tweeted a photo of me wearing "Fuchsia Orchestra" and Loreal tweeted me back saying it look great. These products do stain your lips and will leave a hint of color for a good long while. That's something that I really like, but I understand that not everyone will. The formula is so pigmented and the color is bright and shiny. I've been really enjoying the way these look AND feel on my lips.
From Maybelline, I got 2 24 Hour Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows (I think they had a bunch of "buy one get one 1/2 off deals"). My opinion of these depends on the individual color. I got Pure Nude because I wanted a light nude base for my eyeshadow from the drugstore. It looked a lot like Painterly Paint Pot by MAC, so I thought I'd try it. It is streaky and cakes up in spots and it leaves a very uneven layer, no matter what tool you use to apply it. Not my favorite thing. The other Color Tattoo I got was in Bad To The Bronze, which I love! The formula and color payoff is nothing like Pure Nude. It applies smoothly, has a great color and sheen to it, and looks great both alone on the lid or underneath a powder eyeshadow. I've only had this for a couple days and I can tell that I'm going to repurchase this after I use it all up!
Finally, I got a nail polish top coat from Sinful Colors called Opal Glitter. It looks exactly how the name suggests. I love the subtle pastel glisten that opals have, and I plan on trying this out over a nude or light pink shade.
Well, that about wraps it up for my drugstore haul...mostly I'm very pleased with my purchases. I'm going to have to resist my urge to go get more of these things in different colors!
