Complete DRUGSTORE Prom Makeup! Perfect for non-makeup-wearers!

Hey there!

This blog might look really weird right now, but that's because it is UNDER CONSTRUCTION so bare with me.

Since I know there are a lot of high school and college students who have dances/proms at the end of the year, I thought I would do a prom makeup look.  I wanted it to be all drugstore products, so those of you who don't wear any makeup, or wear very minimal makeup on a day-to-day basis can do this look with inexpensive products (even the tools are all from the drugstore!).  If you don't want to use everything I did, you can pick and choose which steps of the process you want to do.  I hope this helps or gives you a little inspiration for your makeup application on the special occasion!  =)

Before I do anything, when I get out of the shower I moisturize my face.  I use the Olay Complete Moisturizer for normal skin ($9.99).  Then I apply a lip balm so my lips don't dry out.  I use Burt's Bees Honey lip balm ($3.29).  The first thing I do with my makeup is conceal my under eye circles with my beauty blender dupe (Around $4 from Marshall's).  Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Brightening Concealer ($10.39) is my favorite product to get this job done.  Then I cover up any blemishes with my Revlon ColorStay Blemish Concealer in light ($9.99) and pat that in with my fingers.  To even out my complexion, I buff in Physician Formula Mineral Wear Pressed Powder ($13.95) with an E.L.F. brush (you can find them at Target for around $3).  To fake some high cheek bones and give my face dimension, I take NYC Sunny Bronzer (2.99) on another E.L.F. brush below my cheek bones and into my hairline and jawline.  Then I brush some Cover Girl Blush in Rose Silk ($5.39) onto the apples of my cheeks.  This next step is something I highly suggest that you do to make your face look more put together and just generally better.  With an NYC brow/liner pencil in Taupe ($3.60) I lightly fill in my eyebrows to shape and slightly darken them.

Moving on to the eyes, the first thing I do is apply Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe ($7) all over my eyelid as a base.  I line the outer corners of my tight line and water lines with Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in black ($4.49).  I use an eye shadow trio from Wet n Wild in Silent Treatment ($2.99) to make my eyes smolder.  I put the bottom shade all over my lid, the middle shade above my upper lash line and below my lower lash line, and the top shade under my eyebrow and in the inner corner of the eye.  The point is to make the outsides of your eyes look dark, and the insides look light.  This will make your eye appear bigger, and your lashes to appear really full and long.

After that, I just heat up my eyelash curler with a hair dryer, then curled my lashes with my NYC eye lash curler ($4).  This step adds so much to your eye look by curling your lashes twice as much.  With my Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume mascara ($7.79), I coated my upper and lower lashes, focusing on the outside.  Then I went over just the top with my Maybelline The Falsies mascara ($8.29) to provide an extra "umph" of flirty-ness to my eyes.  On my lips I used Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey ($8.99).  I choose this one because a stain will stay on your lips all night long even after eating and drinking.  The Revlon ones are great and SO easy to apply!  I highly recommend them.

Tah dah!  You are all set to head off to your prom or dance or whatever.  Enjoy it!
