How to Break In a New Pair of Heels!

I'm sure you can think of about 15 times when you wore a new pair of heels/shoes to an event and had to take them off halfway through because of the agony. Blisters, pump bumps, bunions (to be super dramatic)...not fun stuff. Here's how to break in that new pair of heels you're dying to wear!
 You will need:
- your new shoes =)
- a pair of socks
- rubbing alcohol
- a cotton ball or paper towel

What you're going to do is wipe the alcohol on the inside of the shoe, covering the entire lining.
Then you put on the socks, strap on those heels, and go do some vacuuming or some dish washing! I'd recommend doing this a couple times before the event, wearing them for about a half hour each time. You just need to do something where you are standing or walking around.

My shoes are getting less and less painful every time I do this!

Maybelline Elixir Glosses Review & Photos

I have 3 colors of the Maybelline Elixir Glosses and I feel like I've used each of them enough now that I can tell you what I think. The colors I have are (L to R) Breathtaking Apricot, Caramel Infused and Nude Illusion. This line has a lot of really pretty colors, but these were the 3 I was feeling at the time.

Breathtaking Apricot (005)
Caramel Infused (065)
Nude Illusion (060)
These glosses are fairly pigmented and they feel really nice when you apply them. I actually really like the angled doe foot applicator...it makes it a lot quicker and easier to apply. The feel of the gloss is very creamy and pretty thick. Unfortunately it is one of those lip products that your strands of hair are going to stick to and glue themselves to your mouth. I'm definitely not a fan of that. The staying power is pretty decent if you are not eating or drinking anything, and the faint vanilla scent is quite nice. The finish is quite glossy, but not sparkly or shimmery.

Overall, I'd say that these lip glosses are really great for temporary wear. I say temporary because after awhile I don't like the thick feel of them on my lips. If I'm in photos or filming or something, they look nice, but I wouldn't want to keep them on all day long. I would, however, wear them alone, without lipstick underneath. Wearing lipstick underneath these just feels way too heavy for me...it's too much product.

Have you tried these glosses? What do you think?

4 Item Face of the Day!

Some days I am totally in the mood to take my time doing my makeup. I'll rummage through everything, use something I haven't used in awhile, come up with a new creative look, and just leisurely enjoy the process. Today, however, was not one of those days. I was feeling very minimal and wanted to use the least amount of products I could to still look put together.

First, I slapped on some foundation with my beauty blender. I've been using the L'Oreal True Match foundation in N2 Classic Ivory. Face done.

I thought about just combing through my brows and leaving them, but with no eye shadow or eye liner, I decided I wanted something a little bolder on the eyebrow front. So, I went ahead and filled them in with my NARS eye shadow duo in Portobello, using the lighter color to thicken things up.

Then I curled my eye lashes and put on a couple coats of Maybelline's new Pumped Up Colossal Volum' Express mascara. I've been using this for a few weeks and I've decided it's not one of my favorites.

Last, I thought I'd go for a bit of a fun lip and chose Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balm in Unapologetic. It's the ultimate super-pigmented bright matte pink. On this gloomy day, I thought I'd have some lip color fun. It's the little things in life.

So there it is in all of it's glory...my face. It's funny looking, I know. Just look at the makeup.

What would be your 4 products for a quick full face?

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Crystal Kiss

I can go either way with the different lines of Baby Lips balms. Some I like a lot, like the Dr. Rescue line, but others I'm not too keen on, like the Electro line (Those ones settle right into the lines of my lips and make them look chapped and gross!). I think that I have done my lips a great disservice by constantly having lip balm on them, day and night. I really think that they can no longer make their own moisture. Therefore, I always have to have a lip balm on me, even if I'm wearing a lip gloss or a lipstick.

I have my favorite balms for different times and occasions, and the Baby Lips Crystal balm in Crystal Kiss is perfect for when I'm not wearing anything else. It gives such a nice glimmer to your lips and makes them look moisturized and just naturally pretty. The finish it has, in my opinion, looks a little overdone and a bit too much over top of some lipsticks, so this one will stay on as a solo performer.
Overall, I am really liking this balm, and it's definitely one of my favorites to wear alone for a natural glimmery finish. It's perfect for days that I don't wear makeup, because it doesn't look at all overdone.
