I'm sure you can think of about 15 times when you wore a new pair of heels/shoes to an event and had to take them off halfway through because of the agony. Blisters, pump bumps, bunions (to be super dramatic)...not fun stuff. Here's how to break in that new pair of heels you're dying to wear!
You will need:
- your new shoes =)
- a pair of socks
- rubbing alcohol
- a cotton ball or paper towel
What you're going to do is wipe the alcohol on the inside of the shoe, covering the entire lining.
Then you put on the socks, strap on those heels, and go do some vacuuming or some dish washing! I'd recommend doing this a couple times before the event, wearing them for about a half hour each time. You just need to do something where you are standing or walking around.
My shoes are getting less and less painful every time I do this!
Look #2 in my new PALETTE series using the Urban Decay Naked Palette is up on my YouTube Channel!
The colors from the palette that I used in this look were
Gunmetal
Naked
Creep
Virgin
I got a request for a more girly daytime appropriate look with a little more 'umph' than look #1, so that's what I'll be creating next. I'm thinking about also doing bridal looks for each palette...I need a little inspiration for the big day! Any other ideas?
Look number one is done and I'm really happy with how it came out. So here it is...I hope you enjoy and please subscribe to my YouTube Channel to find out when Look number two is up!
I am going to be starting a new series on my YouTube Channel! It is going to be palette pandemonium! Eye shadow palettes are probably the makeup item that I have the most fun with, and I've got six palettes that I know I want to do at least three eye shadow looks with each. One look will be casual, one more dramatic/smokey, and then maybe like a colorful or unique look. I'm just going to see where all this palette madness takes me and see what I come up with! If you have a suggestion for a type of look that I should do with each palette, I'd love to hear it!
The palettes that I will be using in this series are:
Urban Decay Naked
Urban Decay Naked 2
Stila In the Know
Too Faced Matte Eye
Urban Decay Smoked
Urban Decay Naked Basics
I'm so excited to start making works of art out of my eye lids and start posting these videos!
Look at all those colors! Look at all those possibilities!
All you've got to do is SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with my latest videos and enjoy!
You think I'll be sick of eye shadow by the end of this? Is that possible? We'll see!
Today's makeup look was created using this beautiful eye shadow palette from Charlotte Ronson called "Dani". There are four shades including a light peachy-pink, a mauvey-rose pink with blue shimmer, a true purple-lilac shade and a deep burgundy. Here's how I did this beautiful smokey eye!
Charlotte Ronson All About Eye Palette in Dani
First, to bump up the lasting power and pigmentation of the eye shadows and create an even base for application, I'm applying a primer all over my lids with my fingers.

Then, I'm taking the lightest shade in the palette and pressing it all over my lid and up into the crease with a flat shader brush. This is kind of like our base color to build everything on top of.
Then I'm taking that true purple shade and packing it on my lid, but not going up to the crease. I really built this color up because this is the really unique, bright purple that I really wanted to stand out on the eyes.
Next, I'm taking the mauvey-rose pink shade from the outside corner of the eye, straight up into the crease and about halfway into the socket. To do this I'm using a fluffy pointed brush to get right into that space below the brow bone. This is going to create the look of a shadow and give the eye more dimension.
Now I'm grabbing that dark burgundy color on a more precise crease brush and starting on the outside corner of the eye as I did with the last color. I'm following that same path to bring it up to the crease, but only defining the very beginning of the crease. This should look like a 'V' on the outside of your eye, but will differ based on the shape of your eye. Then I'm taking a little more on my brush and running it along my lower lash line close to the base of my lashes. After that, I'm blending the heck out of that dark color with a fluffy brush and a light hand. I'm just softening the look and diffusing the color a little bit.
For liner, I'm using a gray pencil and lining my upper lash line. Then I'm taking the darkest shade again on a pencil brush, and going right over the line I just drew. I'm just smudging this out to make it look smokier and give it more of our nice purple color.

Now I'm lining my lower water line with a highlighting pencil, curling my eye lashes, and applying mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

I thought I'd throw in what I decided to wear on my lips. Since the eye look is pretty dramatic, I wanted to go with a subtle nude-pink.
