Hey there!
I just filmed a video on products that I have used up, and I'm going to go into more detail about those that I have a strong opinion about. If you want to see what I thought about each and every one, check out my YouTube video!
Sooo...this is all the stuff I have used up!
What did I think of them? I used the whole thing, so I must have an opinion. Will I/have I repurchased them? I'm about to tell you all that!
Product #1: Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer $12.99
I'm going to have to give this product a big thumbs down. The texture was alright, but the big issue was that it burned my face when I put it on. I suppose that could be because my skin is so sensitive, but isn't this line supposed to be for sensitive skin? Also, it doesn't have any sunscreen in it, so no protection from the elements. That combined with the attack of pain on my skin whenever I put it on has forced my hand on this one. You may be thinking, "if it hurt when you applied it, why did you continue to use the entire bottle?" The answer: sometimes I don't think about the obvious solution, and also, I didn't want to spend money on another moisturizer. Hmmph.
Product #2: Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate $84 (Holy crap!)
Yeah...I really liked how this stuff made my skin feel, but not $84 worth. I can't tell you about the anti-aging aspect about it, because my skin just is not mature enough to notice a difference yet, so I'm going to say that I would not repurchase this (it was a free gift with another purchase). I had no idea how expensive this was...now I know why it feels so good!
Product #3: Revlon Colorstay Under Eye Concealer in Light $5.99
I was hoping this product would be like the Maybelline Dream Lumi under eye concealer, because the drug store was having a buy one get one 50% off on Revlon products. It looks like the same kind of deal, but the formula is different. It did a decent job of actually covering, but no brightening whatsoever. I'd get the brightening concealers from Maybelline or L'Oreal over this one.
Product #4: L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Crayon Concealer $8.99
This is very blendable like the name suggests, but what it fails to do is hold up on your skin. It creases like none other, so do not put it under your eyes. The coverage is decent, so I guess you could use it for blemishes. Overall, I wouldn't repurchase.
Product #5: Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter $4.99
This stuff takes a really long time to sink into the skin, and the texture is not great. It smells like coconut, but an artificially flavored one with too much sweetness. I thought that this would ease my skin's craving for the moisture that body butters provide, but alas, I went and got the $20 Body Shop one after finishing this. Damn it, there are some products that just can't be replicated.
Product #6: Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara $18
I got a sample tube of this with one of my monthly Bare Minerals foundation, and wow! The brush looks like nothing special, but then when you apply it, it puts the perfect amount of product on there and separates your lashes so they are left looking amazing. I really want to get more of this. I think that $18 is a fair price for this home-run of a product.
Thanks so much for reading and don't forget to come check out my YouTube channel and follow me on Twitter! and Instagram!
Later! =)
