I'm coming at you today with some of the stuff that I use a lot as the weather is getting warmer, I'm outside more, and I'm just generally more active.
1. Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 I'm always very conscious about exposing my skin to the sun in the warmer months. My mom wasn't careful and she has to get sun spots removed and she recently got a blue light treatment for potentially cancerous areas of sun damage on her skin. When I'm going to be outside for awhile, I use a sunscreen with more SPF (usually 30), but if not, I make sure my moisturizer has SPF.
2. Revlon Nail Varnish in #85 Minted I love this nail polish and it has held up so well for about a week now! I did have to apply 3 coats and then a top coat, but I've only got a couple chips, which is insane for me. Impressive!
3. Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist in Sensual Blush This perfume smells both sweet and floral, and I've been wearing it every day. It's not over powering and it's not too formal smelling, so I think it's a great scent to put on when I get out of the shower. It's fresh and springy! Yum!
4. Midal Complete I just discovered that this stuff actually works! I was under the impression that it was just a placebo effect thing, and it wasn't worth purchasing. Two months ago I got hit hard with my special time of the month, and I was desperate. It helped with my cramps, bloating and fatigue...can you say miracle drug?!
5. Skintimate Shave Gel in Raspberry Rain I used to just use soap to shave my legs, and if I wasn't really careful, it was a bit of a massacre. I got cuts and nicks all the time. This was another thing that I didn't think actually helped, but I rarely cut myself when I use it. Don't judge me, but I shave my legs much more often in the spring and summer than the fall and winter, so this stuff is a must-have right about now.
6. Goody Fabric Headbands(?) I can't wear headbands because even a slight amount of pressure on my head gives me a headache because of my post concussion syndrome, but I'm fed up with having to clip up my bangs when I work out. I was looking for something looser that would keep my hair back, and these are great! Perfect if you can't or don't like to wear tighter headbands.
7. Sentry First Guard Flea and Tick Protection I got this from amazon.com and it's a cheaper brand of either K9 Advantix or Frontline Plus, which can be really expensive (especially if you have a very large dog). This was about $25 for 6 months. I stay on top of this is in the spring and summer because it's tick season and we do a lot of hiking. So far, Albi hasn't gotten any ticks since I've started using this. Yay for bargain shopping!
Extremely excited about flea and tick protection! |
So that's it for my spring essentials...thanks so much for reading and check out my YouTube video where I go into more detail about this stuff.
Later! =)
