Hey there!
I got something from Clinique a few weeks ago, and it came with a bunch of little free gifts! There was a little makeup bag, a mascara/lipstick and an eye shadow quad. I totally forgot about this stuff because I just put them aside, but I looked at the eye shadows today and was inspired to do a look with them. I wasn't sure what to call it, but when I was done, it really brought out my hazel/green eyes, and I knew that it would be a perfect green-eyed tutorial. Enjoy!

BEAUTIFUL Clinique Quad |
This particular quad is only available in this free gift, but the colors are in Clinique's permanent line. The two shades on the right are from a duo that Clinique does called "Buttered Toast". The lighter green shade is called "Lemongrass" and the dark green is "On Safari".
1. The first step whenever I put on eye shadow is to prime my eyes. This ensures a smooth application of your shadows, makes them more pigmented and helps them last longer on your eyes. This step is important, especially for long days or special occasions.
|
Today I'm using Too Faced Shadow Insurance to prime my eyes. |
2. Now I'm taking the lightest shade in the quad, and patting that all over my lids with a Lancome eye shadow brush. We'll apply some of the other shades over part of this, but the brightness of the cream shade on the center of the lid will make your eyes appear bigger and brighter.
|
This cream shade has a beautiful sheen to it. |
3. On an EcoTools 'Highlight' brush, I'm blending the golden brown color into my crease, focusing on the outer corner of my eyelid. This will give the eye a really interesting dimension to it, and provide a guideline of where to apply the next shadow. The brush I'm using is round and pointed, perfect for getting into the crease.
|
I love this golden brown color. Especially on green or hazel eyes. |
|
4. Now we are going to add some color! I'm taking 'On Safari' on an EcoTools 'Shade' brush to line the outer parts of the upper and lower lash lines (staying as close to the lashes as possible) and then following that brown up and just slightly into the crease. Now you'll really see that defined outer V where the brown and green are.
|
Makeup is all about enhancing your natural features...here we are using it to make our eye lashes look longer and fuller, so remember to keep the dark colors on the outer areas of the eye. We'll put the lighter ones on the insides. |
5. Now grab a flat shader brush. The one I'm using came in my Urban Decay Naked palette, but any flat brush will work. We are going to use 'Lemongrass' to line the insides of our upper and lower lash lines. This is going to blend into that darker green shade on the lash line about halfway through the top of the eyelid. Make sure the transition is blended and seamless.
|
Check out what that green does to my eye color! |
6. With a brown eye liner, line your upper and lower water line. The one I'm using is a greenish-brown. This color goes great with the look, and this application is going to make your eye lashes look fuller.
|
I'm using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stash. |
7. Now just curl your eye lashes and apply a couple coats of mascara. I put two coats on the top and one on the bottom.

The finished look! |
Let me know what you thought of this step-by-step eye makeup look! Thanks so much for reading!
Later! =)
